PU timing belts are made of polyurethane, which offers high abrasion resistance. The different types of cords used in the belt provide varying tensile strengths, depending on the application. The Elatech Eagle 14M is made of polyethylene with a steel or Kevlar cord. This type of PU timing belt is available in 5M, 8M, 10M, and 14M pitches in open lengths. A PU timing belt can be welded together to create an endless belt. We also offer this timing belt as a full-strength, endless cast Megaflex timing belt in 8M, 10M, and 14M pitches, with lengths ranging from 1500 to 22500 mm.
Megalinear QST14 polyurethane timing belts offer reliable transmission capabilities. They are available with a nylon layer that can be applied to the tooth side (NFT/PAZ). Various coatings can be applied to the reverse side to address different friction requirements. We can also mount carriers on the reverse side to handle various tensile applications.
It is possible to assemble an open PU timing belt into a welded timing belt of your desired length using a melting tool, however, you will lose 50% of the tensile strength due to the use of steel reinforcement.
