The CONTI® SYNCHROFORCE CXP 5M timing belt from ContiTech (Continental) is a high-performance timing belt designed for high power applications at high speeds. Specifically developed for demanding industrial drives, it transmits torque precisely and reliably. Thanks to its robust construction and antistatic properties, it is particularly suitable for use in mechanical engineering, automation, and packaging technology. Typical applications include machine tools, packaging machines, the printing and textile industries, and automated conveyor systems, where high power transmission with low maintenance is required.
Tooth pitch: HTD 5M (5 mm module). This profile allows for a compact yet high-performance design.
Material composition: Teeth and belt backing made of chloroprene-based synthetic rubber (neoprene/CR) with a polyamide fabric covering; high-strength glass cord tensile member. This construction (polyamide fabric – synthetic rubber teeth – glass fiber tensile member – synthetic rubber backing) ensures high flexural fatigue strength and minimal elongation.
Temperature range: approximately -20 °C to +100 °C (depending on application). The belt is heat and age resistant and suitable for tropical climates.
Available widths/lengths: Standard widths are approximately 9 mm, 15 mm, and 25 mm. Continuous lengths (HTD 5M) range from approximately 200 mm to 2000 mm, suitable for many industrial drives according to ISO 9563 specifications.
Tensile cord material: High-strength fiberglass cord. The fiberglass cord enables very high tensile forces and dynamic loads. (Note: The CXA version uses aramid instead of fiberglass cord.)
Maximum peripheral speed: up to approximately 50 m/s. This allows for high rotational speeds, for example in fast drive trains.
Standards/Conductivity: Antistatic according to ISO 9563 (electrically conductive), PAH/PAK reduction category 2. The belt is also conditionally oil and ozone resistant.

Environmental and user protection: Reduced PAH content (PAH category 2 according to AfPS GS 2014), therefore harmless to health. Antistatic design prevents electrostatic charging.
Robust against environmental influences: Ozone and aging resistant, as well as tropicalized. The belt runs reliably even in humid or heavily stressed environments.
Suitable for reverse bends: Special design allows use with reverse bend or back tension rollers, ideal for compact drive trains.
