The Conti Synchroforce CXP 3M 267 is a high-performance timing belt for precise, slip-free power transmission in industrial drives. It belongs to the Synchroforce series from ContiTech and is specifically designed for high power transmission and speed. With a tooth pitch of 3 mm (profile 3M, based on the round HTD design), it is particularly suitable for compact drives in fields such as mechanical engineering, automation technology, and robotics.
The belt's construction comprises an abrasion-resistant polyamide fabric on the tooth surface, teeth and backing made of durable synthetic rubber, and a fiberglass tensile cord. This design gives the belt high load-bearing capacity and a long service life . Furthermore, the Synchroforce CXP is antistatic according to ISO 9563, ozone- and age-resistant, and suitable for use in tropical climates. It remains functional in a wide temperature range from approximately -20 °C to +100 °C and exhibits limited oil resistance ; in addition, the material is low in PAHs (Category 2 according to AfPS GS 2014) for clean and safe operation.
Compared to standard timing belts, the Synchroforce CXP is distinguished by its higher power density and reliability. It transmits high torques even at high rotational speeds of up to 60 m/s and, thanks to its maintenance-free design, requires no lubrication or frequent retensioning. This makes it ideal for continuous, demanding applications with minimal maintenance. Typical applications include high-torque drives in industry, such as in machine tools , textile, packaging, and printing machines, as well as in robotics and precision mechanics. This timing belt is also occasionally used in certain automotive applications (e.g., in special drives) or in the private sector (e.g., in high-quality model making ). However, industrial applications remain the primary focus, as this is where its advantages – high performance, durability, and maintenance-free operation – are most fully realized.
