Flat belt with connection
A flat belt, also known as a drive belt, is a transmission belt used for power transmission. A characteristic feature of a flat belt is its smooth and elastic surface, which, without bumps or variations in thickness, ensures that the belt has no weak points. This surface also contributes to quiet operation by absorbing vibrations and noise. Flat belts enable very high speeds and are used, for example, in the textile, metal, and woodworking industries, as well as in conveyor and transport systems. Flat belts can transmit up to 97% of their tensile strength and ensure stable and efficient power transmission because they can transmit force from both sides of the belt. We recommend that our customers choose a flat belt if they are looking for an efficient and reliable belt with minimal maintenance and a long service life.
Flat belts are manufactured from durable rubber or plastic and can be reinforced with nylon, Kevlar, steel, or polyester. We offer a wide selection of open and closed flat belts. Flat belts can be finished with a surface coating of your choice to suit specific industries and transportation applications. We offer surface coatings made of rubber, PVC, PU, or foam, which can be applied to one or both sides of the belt. Coating a flat belt allows you to tailor it to specific applications and add properties such as high/low friction, hardness, etc. Flat belts are available in lengths from 180–4,800 mm (rubber) and 200–5,400 mm (plastic). Various thicknesses are offered, providing different tensile strengths. The thicker the flat belt, the larger the pulley diameter in the belt drive must be.
